At Travel Concepts we specialize in creating tailor-made romantic journeys so when lovely couple Deep and Gaurav from India asked our sister company Wedding Conceptsto create their intimate but beautiful beach celebration on Oudekraal beach in Cape Town, we were more than delighted to be tasked with designing their dream African honeymoon too!

They asked us to create a honeymoon that would showcase the very best of stylish Cape Town and combine it with a proper African safari. And as we are famous for creating our customized honeymoons to suit any couples needs, Deep and Gaurav were no exception!

“Falling in love with South Africa is a certainty; Travel Concepts made sure that this happened very quickly for us! Gaurav and I had a really intimate wedding-cum-honeymoon in South Africa and a big part of the reason we chose it for our special occasion was that I stumbled upon the website of Wedding Concepts/Travel Concepts and it instantly attracted me. They were  so responsive, quick to understand our taste and forthcoming in offering expert advice. After just a few email exchanges, I knew that we were in good hands. 

We stayed at the POD Hotel in Cape Town for five nights which is a lovely boutique property in Camps Bay! Very chic and elegant rooms, friendly and attentive service, breakfast to die for and a beautiful beach just outside the hotel. Our dinners at the Roundhouse and Azure restaurants were amazing! We spent two nights at La Petite Ferme in Franschhoek in their Champagne Suite, a lovely cottage with a plunge pool that looks out onto a wine farm and mountains beyond. We loved our meals at Haute Cabriere restaurant and Delaire Graff Estate. We were wishing that we had an extra night in Franschhoek as there were so many wineries we wanted to visit but just didn’t have time.

The last leg of our trip was spent in Sabi Sands Private Game Reserve at the Leopard Hills Lodge. I think words and pictures can’t do enough justice to this property, it is one of those things that have got to be experienced! It was so special, sometimes in unpredictable ways, superb game viewing with our ranger Heinrich and tracker Simon, who were knowledgeable, fun and very personable.

Thanks to Chantal from Travel Concepts for that extra word she put in for us, we were just showered with attention everywhere we went. From champagne to surprise cakes to chocolates to rose petals to that special corner seat in restaurants, this was a truly romantic and memorable trip!
